Dancing Girl

Lori Heaton

Lori has been involved in dance since a very early age. She received dance training beginning at the age of five in Salt Lake City from Carol Brotherson. After her family moved to Cedar City, she continued training in drill, dance and gymnastics until college. She attended SUU and was a competitive member of the SUU gymnastics team. In the 1980's, Lori acted as Drill Advisor for Woods Cross High School, and as Copper Hills High School Cheerleading Tumbling coach from 2000 to 2003. Lori has also been a local Utah dance competition judge for four years. She and her husband, Ingo, are actively involved parents of six children, and one grandchild. Lori opened a dance studio in 1986, and currently maintains a tumbling studio in South Jordan. Lori identified a need in the competition industry to provide a greater sense of self-confidence and enjoyment to dancers competing in local competitions, so she started producing dance competitions in 1986 and later formed a partnership with Gerilee Lyon and created Champion Dance Productions.

Gerilee Lyon

Gerilee has 13 years of dance training with Karen Pierson and Carma Colton, as well as five years of training in gymnastics. Gerilee graduated locally from Bingham High School, where she danced as a Minerette. She attained her Associates degree from Rick's College. Gerilee brings 10+ years of experience in both the non-profit and for-profit business community. She and husband Jeff, are the proud parents of seven children and reside in South Jordan. Gerilee's desire is to provide a positive environment for dancers to develop and display their dance talents, while building self-confidence and a positive self-image.
