POLICY AND PROCEDURE UPDATES

Please take a moment to review these updates to ensure your awareness of the changes for the 2010 season.

  • All competitions will have limited registration .
  • All competition registration will cease at 2 weeks prior to all competitions, or once the maximum registration capacity reached, whichever occurs first.
  • Studios requiring stage only performances are encouraged to register for the "stage" competitions: Dancin' Dynamics and Competitive Edge. Stage performances will not be guaranteed for any other competition. Studios may request their preference of location at the time of registration, but Champion Dance will not guarantee all requests can be met.
  • Competition location for each genre' or routine (stage or gymnasium) will be determined by the rules of the location, and the time limitations of the competition.
  • Registration refunds will not be provided for preference of locations being unmet.
  • New, simplier judging guidelines have been established.
  • A Production Routine must include scenery or backdrop, multiple entrances/exits by dancers & must contain the components of musical theatre production.
  • All Pointe competitors must register in either the Intermediate or Advanced skill level. (No Amateur or Amateur/Intermediate entries will be accepted.)
  • The Prop category has been retired. All routines including props should be registered in the appropriate genre' to their routine.
  • Solo refunds will now be $50.00 Champion Dollars. All other refunds will also be provided only in Champion Dollars.
  • All routines must be registered and performed at a regional competition before being performed at the National Competition. (National registration can be completed in conjunction with the qualifying regional competition registration).
  • No independent group or production routines will be allowed to register.
  • All participants will receive one participation trophy (the medal qualification program has been retired).
  • A Quartet category has been added to the Solo/Duet/Trio competition.
  • All "cash awards will be "Champion Dollars."
  • Early registration is defined as prior to January 10th, 2010. (Note: must be received by Champion Dance - late postmarks will not be considered.)
  • Director and teacher lanyards will be limited to 2 per studio. Directors and teachers are asked to return these lanyards at the end of each competition when they pick up their adjudication packets. Lost or unreturned lanyards will be replaced by wristbands for ensuing competitions.
  • Routines registering in a category which provides no other registered competitor will be moved to an OPEN category or will compete as a showcase entry only; according to the information provided on their registration form.
  • Champion Dance's new mailing address at PostNet(3688 West 9800 South, #11, South Jordan, UT 84095) provides walk- in service to clients during the hours of 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Mon-Fri, and 9:00 am - 2:00 pm on Saturday.
  • The Elite Image Competition Program has been retired.
  • Champion Dance Customer Service hours (e-mail and telephone):
    • September 1 through December 19: messages will be checked and returned weekly.
    • December 19 through January 4: closed for Christmas break.
    • January 5 through February 28: office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
    • March 1 through May 16th: office hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
    • May 18 through June 14: messages will be checked and returned weekly.
    • June 15 through August 31st: closed for Summer Break.
